The International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERCARGO) noted in a memorandum distributed to its members that "the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) are warning all vessels to stay a large distance away from Bab al-Mandab." INTERCARGO added in the memorandum, which Reuters viewed, "The threat period to shipping operations is expected to last for several days."
