Hezbollah's Response to the Attack on Nabatiyeh

On the evening of yesterday, the "Islamic Resistance" - Hezbollah issued a statement declaring that "in support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance, and in response to the targeting of the villages, especially the recent assault on the city of Nabatiyeh, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance targeted, at 11:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2024, the command headquarters of the Third Infantry Brigade at the Ain Zaitim base with dozens of Katyusha rockets."

It is noted that on the same day, a four-wheel drive vehicle in Nabatiyeh was targeted by a missile from an Israeli drone, containing members of Hezbollah. Sources from "Sky News Arabia" revealed that the overall military commander of Hezbollah, Ali Korki, was the primary target of the attack in southern Lebanon that occurred on Thursday, but he survived.

Due to the drone attack, the military official in Hezbollah, Abbas Debs, known as "Haj Abdullah," was injured along with another person accompanying him. However, sources confirmed to "Sky News Arabia" that Korki was the intended target but successfully evaded visibility, as he was not in the targeted vehicle. The sources further asserted that Korki, who survived a second assassination attempt, is considered the highest-ranking military leader in the party and is also a member of what is known as the "Jihad Council," the military and security wing of Hezbollah.
