The U.S. State Department announced today that "Secretary Antony Blinken discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the need to enhance regional stability with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud." The department stated in a press release: "Blinken emphasized the importance of addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, preventing the escalation of conflict, and promoting stability and security in the region, including Yemen." It also added, "He underscored the importance of working towards a sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians, which is a shared priority for both the United States and Saudi Arabia." U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin welcomed his Saudi counterpart to the Pentagon yesterday to discuss the importance of the enduring partnership between the United States and Saudi Arabia.
