Burglary at a Company: Arrest Made by the Information Branch

On June 22, 2023, an unknown masked individual entered a company in the Ashrafieh area using a stolen key. He broke open a desk drawer and stole approximately $10,000 and 30,000,000 Lebanese Lira. His accomplice was waiting outside in an unknown silver SUV until he completed the theft, after which they both fled in the vehicle to an unknown location.

Immediately, the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces was tasked with field procedures and inquiries to identify and arrest the perpetrators. Through continuous monitoring, investigations, and extensive tracking by the branch's personnel, it was discovered that the vehicle used in the theft was a "Nissan Pathfinder," belonging to an employee of the company. Her husband was suspected of carrying out the theft; his name is Q. R. (born in 1976, Lebanese).

On July 13, 2023, after careful observation and surveillance, one of the patrols managed to arrest him in the Hadath area while he was in the mentioned SUV, which was also seized. The branch was able to recover 240,000,000 Lira and around $2,500.

During the investigation, he confessed to participating with another person in the theft from the company, having taken a copy of the key that belonged to his wife, who works at the company, without her knowledge. He used her car for the act after removing its license plates. He stated that his partner entered the company while he circled the SUV until the theft was completed, and his share from the operation was approximately $2,000. He also admitted to using drugs, specifically cocaine and hashish.

The Nissan Pathfinder was impounded, and legal measures were taken against him. He was placed in custody along with the seized items based on judicial orders, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the second accomplice.
