What Prince Harry Said About His Father King Charles's Illness

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, confirmed in an interview with an American television channel that "his father King Charles's illness could bring them closer together." Harry stated on ABC's morning show that "any illness or pain brings families together." When asked about the possibility of family reunification due to a member's illness, like the British royal family, Harry replied, "Yes, of course, I am sure of that."

This is Harry's first interview since the announcement of King Charles's cancer diagnosis, after which Harry announced he would postpone all his media appearances. Harry did not bring his wife or children during his recent visit and did not meet his brother Prince William, the heir to the throne, staying at the palace for only about 45 minutes to check on the king's condition.

The interview with Prince Harry came shortly after he and his wife launched a new website for their foundation. The couple visited a sports training site in British Columbia, Canada, where Harry also tried out ice skating on a track that will be used for the upcoming Invictus Games next year.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Prince of Wales will attend the BAFTA film and television awards, which is the first event Prince William will attend on behalf of the king following his cancer diagnosis. Prince William is chairing the BAFTA festival. Additionally, a stomach surgery was performed on the Princess of Wales, Prince William's wife, after which she returned home to stay with her husband and their three children. Prince William has not attended many events since the announcement of his father and wife's illnesses.
