The Secretary-General of the High Relief Authority, Brigadier General Muhammad Khair, confirmed that "the Authority is monitoring the conditions of Lebanese citizens in Niger and coordinating with all members of the Lebanese crisis cell involved in the crisis there, led by Chargé d'Affaires at the Niger Embassy, Majda Karky." He pointed out that "the Authority has directed calls to members of the community who are unable to return to Lebanon to communicate with the crisis cell for assistance in their return." He revealed that "the number of Lebanese community members in Niger is 250," noting that "Lebanese individuals are widespread in most West African countries and Côte d'Ivoire, especially in Senegal, while the number in Niger does not exceed 250, most of whom are currently spending their summer vacation in Lebanon."
Khair explained that "Lebanese residents in Niger work in the field of trade and are owners of industrial establishments." He assured that he is "fully prepared to assist them and is working to raise the morale of every expatriate until their safe return to the homeland."
