Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said today, Saturday, that he "does not understand how Israel's goal of eliminating the Palestinian Hamas movement, which it is fighting in Gaza, can be achieved." He added, "Israel says it wants to eliminate Hamas; there are many soldiers here, I just don't understand how this goal can be achieved." Safadi warned that Jordan "will do everything necessary to prevent the displacement of Palestinians." During the Manama Dialogue security summit organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Bahrain, he stated, "We will never allow this to happen; in addition to being a war crime, it would pose a direct threat to our national security, and we will do whatever it takes to stop it." The Jordanian Foreign Minister considered that "this war leads us nowhere but to more conflict, more suffering, and the threat of expanding into regional wars."
