Israeli media reported on Friday that Israel is preparing a plan for a potential ground operation in Lebanon amid ongoing military escalation with Hezbollah that has been continuing for months. Israeli Channel 13 stated that the army "is formulating a plan for a ground entry into Lebanon." It added that "in preparation for the possibility of war in the north, the army has tasked Brigadier General Moshe Tamir with the responsibility of preparing several potential plans for a ground operation in Lebanon at various levels." It is noteworthy that Tamir was the one who formulated the plan for the Israeli army's entry into Gaza, as he was asked to "draw lessons from the fighting in the sector." Nearly daily mutual shelling has been recorded across the border between the Israeli army and Hezbollah since the outbreak of the war in Gaza between Israel on October 7 of last month. These developments have raised concerns about the escalation of the war in Gaza amidst regional and international efforts to halt the mutual attacks.
