Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived today, Thursday, at Rafik Hariri International Airport, coming from the Syrian capital Damascus on an official visit to Lebanon, where he will meet with several Lebanese officials. In a press conference at Beirut Airport, Abdollahian noted that he expects "regional and international countries to support Lebanon economically and commercially," stating that he is "confident in Lebanon and its people's ability to make the right decision to elect a president." He also urged Lebanese parties to reach an agreement to elect a president, highlighting that "we had positive discussions in Saudi Arabia, and we heard constructive statements about Lebanon," calling on everyone to cooperate with Lebanon. He was welcomed upon arrival at the airport by the representative of the Speaker of the House, Deputy Ayoub Hamid, Deputies Ali Ammar and Ibrahim al-Mousawi, the Director of Ceremonies at the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Abir Ali, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon, Majid Amani, heading a delegation from the embassy.
