Video - Wild Boar Roaming in the Heart of Tunisia

Social media platforms in Tunisia circulated videos showing a wild boar wandering at night on Habib Bourguiba Street, one of the most important streets in the capital, amid a state of astonishment. Activists questioned how this boar managed to sneak out from the forests and mountains surrounding the capital’s outskirts, covering several kilometers without being noticed until it crossed Bourguiba Street, where passersby captured photos of it. On the other hand, veterinarians suggested that the search for food could be behind the boar's descent from the forests, considering it normal for it to move to residential areas, especially if it is a female searching for food for its young. It is noted that several provinces in Tunisia experience occasional outbreaks of wild boars, alongside ongoing calls for authorities to intervene and protect residents from the dangers of this phenomenon.
