Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani stated in a statement that "the attacks represent a serious and strategic mistake by the United States, which will only lead to increased tension and instability in the region." The U.S. military carried out airstrikes on more than 85 targets associated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and groups supported by Tehran, in response to a drone attack early last week in Jordan that resulted in the deaths of three American soldiers.
