Russian media reported today, Saturday, that the water level of the Ural River in the city of Orenburg has risen to nearly 12 meters. The Russian news agency quoted the local emergency service stating that the water level has reached 11.83 meters, or about 39 feet. Authorities in the city have urged thousands of residents to evacuate immediately, as of yesterday, Friday, due to the rapid increase in water levels following the flooding of major rivers as a result of the melting of large amounts of snow.
