Former MP Walid Jumblatt indicated that "Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said there is a front in Lebanon supporting Hamas, and I say we should avoid being drawn into war against Israel, and so far, there is respect for the rules of the game." He explained that "a ceasefire was established in 2006, and Resolution 1701 was issued at that time, and we must all respect this resolution because violating it means the withdrawal of international forces, putting us in a state of full war, which is not in Lebanon’s or the region's interest." He asked, "Where will the residents of Gaza go amid the bombardment? The Israeli government aims to forcibly or voluntarily displace as many people as possible from the Gaza Strip, repeating the tragedy of the Nakba of 1948." He considered that "the two-state solution is difficult, if not impossible, and if the major powers agree on this solution, then an international conference is necessary because there are currently more than 700,000 armed Israelis in the West Bank."
