Title: Al-Rai: Strengthening the Bonds of the Lebanese Family to Confront the Regional Threat

Maronite Patriarch Bechara Al-Rai stated in his sermon today, Sunday, that "the culture of unity in diversity is inherent to Lebanon," noting that "the culture of living together as Christians and Muslims must be based on equality and shared governance." Al-Rai emphasized that "the persistent failure to elect a president undermines the national pact, and in his absence, the Lebanese family disintegrates as is currently happening." He pointed out that "unity requires distancing from conflicts by ensuring that the state and central governance do not favor any particular group." He stressed the necessity of working seriously "to strengthen the bonds of the Lebanese family in order to confront the danger of the current regional situation."
