The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "there have been recent thefts of air conditioners from homes and shops in several towns in the Jezzine district, carried out by unknown individuals using a BMW car. The latest of these thefts occurred on March 3, 2024, when two unknown individuals stole air conditioners belonging to a restaurant in the town of Wadi Baenqin - Jezzine. Upon being seen by local residents, they fled through the orchards, leaving the car and the stolen items behind.
Following this, the specialized units in the Information Division began their field and investigative procedures to uncover the perpetrators and arrest them. As a result of extensive inquiries and investigations, the division was able to identify the two individuals involved in the thefts: K.N. (born in 1991, Lebanese) who has several judicial warrants issued against him, and A.K. (born in 2001, Lebanese). On March 5 and 9, 2024, after careful monitoring, the division arrested them in the city of Sidon.
During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in multiple thefts targeting shops and homes in the Jezzine area, as well as stealing avocado fruits from various orchards. The second individual also admitted to using hashish and Captagon pills. Legal action was taken against them, and they were referred to the relevant authorities based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
