Evacuation orders have been issued for more than two thousand people from towns in western Victoria, Australia, due to an out-of-control bushfire. The state's Premier, Jacinta Allan, stated that over a thousand firefighters are working in the area, supported by 24 aircraft and more than a hundred vehicles. More firefighters are expected to join these efforts soon.
Officials have reported no damage to property so far, but it is still too early to get an accurate picture of the potential scale of damage. The state emergency service has urged residents in the towns of Raglan and Beaufort, where about two thousand people live, as well as residents in nearby areas, to leave their homes and head east towards Ballarat, 95 kilometers west of Melbourne.
The fire has spread over an area estimated at around 50 square kilometers northwest of Ballarat. Additionally, there is another out-of-control fire in a different area further west.
