The Israeli army announced today, Friday, that it targeted a militant from Islamic Jihad in an airstrike in the West Bank while he was on his way to carry out an attack. The Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) reported that a 17-year-old boy was also killed in the airstrike, which took place late Thursday in the city of Jenin and resulted in the injury of more than ten others. The Israeli army stated that the strike targeted Yasser Hannoun, who had carried out several shooting attacks in recent weeks. The West Bank has been experiencing increasing violence even before the Israeli war on Gaza, but it has escalated since then with frequent Israeli raids and clashes that often result in casualties. Health authorities in Gaza claim that the Israeli military campaign against the region has killed more than 29,000 Palestinians, destroyed vast areas, and displaced most of its 2.3 million residents.
