Tajikistan's President Conducts Phone Call with Russian Counterpart

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon agreed to continue close cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism. Rahmon stated that terrorists have no nationality, homeland, or religion.

According to a statement from Rahmon's press office following a phone conversation with President Putin, both sides agreed to continue working to combat "manifestations of religious extremism that pose a serious threat to security." The two presidents also highlighted the importance of further strengthening joint efforts to maintain communication and coordination among relevant agencies to effectively respond to and jointly combat these threats.

Rahmon condemned the brutal terrorist attack that occurred at the Krokus City Hall complex in the suburbs of Moscow during his conversation with Putin, conveyed wishes for a swift recovery to the victims, and expressed sincere condolences and support to the families and loved ones of the victims who were killed in this terrorist attack.

Rahmon's office added: "In this period of mourning during the national grief in the Russian Federation, our President reaffirmed the solidarity of all Tajik citizens with the fraternal Russian people."
