Revised final data released by the French National Statistics Office today, Thursday, showed that the French economy grew slightly in the last quarter of 2023, supported by faster growth in service consumption and foreign trade. The National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies reported in its quarterly GDP report that the second-largest economy in the Eurozone grew by 0.1 percent in the last three months of the previous year, which adjusts its initial reading published last month that indicated no quarter-on-quarter growth. The country's economic growth for the entire year was confirmed at 0.9 percent, down from 2.5 percent in 2022. The European Commission expects France's GDP to grow by 0.9 percent in 2024 as well, while growth in the twenty Eurozone countries combined is projected at 0.8 percent.
