Jan Aboud Expects Number of Arrivals to Reach 1.8 Million

Jan Aboud, President of the Syndicate of Travel and Tourism Offices, revealed that 110 flights arrive daily "at Rafic Hariri International Airport, including additional flights," noting that "Middle East Airlines and foreign airlines organized extra flights during July and August." He pointed out that "on regular days, the airport welcomes about 90 to 95 aircraft," and confirmed that "the number of arrivals and flights to Beirut Airport will increase as it is customary for airport activity to rise during July and August." Aboud announced that "in June, the number of arrivals at Beirut Airport reached 430,000 people, with expectations of 1.8 million arrivals during the summer, especially since the pace of arrivals increases in August, and the number of additional flights rises by 25%." He stated: "The number of arrivals at Beirut Airport is very high, and the authorities have taken all necessary measures, increased staff, and secured fuel to accommodate the surge." Aboud hoped that "Beirut Airport would maintain its readiness, as Lebanon is experiencing a promising tourist season where Arab and foreign tourists are expected to constitute 30% to 35% of total arrivals."
