UAE President Discusses Regional Developments with Turkish President

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields. The two sides reviewed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, primarily focusing on the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories. They emphasized the importance of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the need to protect civilians according to international law, ensuring safe and sustainable mechanisms for the adequate delivery of humanitarian assistance without any obstacles, as well as rejecting their forced displacement. They stressed the necessity of finding a framework for a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which achieves stability and security in the region. The two sides also touched on the outcomes of the COP28 Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the significance of the "UAE Agreement" issued there to enhance the international climate action pathway.
