Ahmad Al-Aqili, a representative of the General Authority for Military Industries in Saudi Arabia, revealed that a Saudi delegation is participating in the "EDEX" 2023 exhibition currently taking place in Egypt to enhance cooperation in the field of defense industries. Al-Aqili stated before Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi, "Our presence at this exhibition is very important to strengthen defense cooperation and military manufacturing with Egypt in particular and other countries."
President Abdel Fattah Sisi attended the opening of the International Exhibition for Defense and Military Industries "EDEX 2023." Al-Aqili also mentioned that there are five military industrial companies representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the exhibition, including SAMI Company, a government-established entity that has become ranked among the top 100 military industries globally within five years.
During his visit to the exhibition, a representative of SAMI told President Sisi that "the company was established under the guidance of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to be the executive arm in achieving the defense development targets of the Kingdom under Vision 2030, and they aim for the company to be ranked in the top 25 defense manufacturing companies worldwide." The company specializes in manufacturing defense, air, and naval systems, and all of its business units are working to develop local capabilities.
