General Ibrahim Announces Mediation in Prisoner Exchange Negotiations Between

Former director of the Lebanese General Security, General Abbas Ibrahim, announced his mediation in the prisoner exchange negotiations between "Hamas" and Israel through the American mediator Amos Hochstein. In an interview with "Al-Jadeed" channel, he stated that "what is currently being worked on is the file of prisoners and their exchange, and there is Israeli obstinacy on this matter alongside significant international pressure to accomplish this file. We hope that this deal will happen soon, and that Palestinian prisoners will be freed in exchange for what Hamas and Islamic Jihad will provide, and this matter is being conducted in secrecy," stressing that the Palestinians will have the upper hand regarding prisoner issues. Ibrahim emphasized, "I do not believe that Hamas and the ten thousand martyrs who fell since October 7 will accept that Israeli prisons remain unemptied; the blood of children and martyrs was shed for this goal and for the liberation of Palestine." He also announced that he had a role with Hochstein regarding the exit of dual nationals and the injured from the Gaza Strip. Regarding the speech of Hezbollah's Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, he viewed it as being closer to realism and rationality, leaving matters open to all possibilities and sending messages that surpassed Israel, warning of the continuation of war in the region.
