French President Emmanuel Macron indicated that he "will propose to Russia a ceasefire in Ukraine throughout the period of the Olympic Games to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11." Macron explained in an interview with Ukrainian media that he is "ready to discuss proposals to ease the conflict in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin." In response to a journalist's question about whether Paris would ask Moscow to halt hostilities during the Olympic Games, the French president replied, "Yes, we will ask them." The 2024 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
