The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On September 13, 2023, in the area of Bourj Hammoud, the body of (M.S.A., born in 1953, Egyptian and holding Lebanese nationality) was found lifeless inside his chicken shop, with his hands and feet bound, and blood on the ground. Immediately, orders were given to the specialized units in the Directorate's Information Division to conduct procedures at the crime scene and surrounding area. Due to the ambiguity surrounding the circumstances of the crime, the division conducted an inquiry in the vicinity of the victim's residence, questioning over 50 witnesses, which helped develop a preliminary understanding of the crime's execution beginning the evening of September 12, 2023, along with its method of execution.

This murder in Bourj Hammoud was motivated by theft, and the Information Division uncovered the circumstances of the crime and arrested two of the perpetrators.

Following this, after gathering the information, the division identified two suspects in the crime: A.A. (born in 1970, Lebanese), the mastermind of the crime who works as a cleaning lady in a private school, and J.R. (born in 1990, Syrian).

On October 3, 2023, after careful monitoring and surveillance, special forces from the Information Division managed to arrest them in the areas of Dora and Hamra during a simultaneous operation.

During the investigation, after being confronted with evidence of their involvement in the murder, they confessed that it was committed for the purpose of theft, in collaboration with the individual identified as T.H. (approximately 33 years old, Syrian) who fled to Syria after committing the crime. They added that they had met at the first suspect's house three days prior to the crime to plan how to enter the victim's house through the chicken shop, with A.A. intending to distract the victim while the others entered his home through the shop.

On the evening of September 12, 2023, the second and third suspects managed to enter the victim's house as planned, and when the victim was closing his shop and heading home, they struck him on the head until he lost consciousness. They then bound him and stole approximately $3,600, sharing the money at the first suspect's home.

Legal measures were taken against them, and they were placed along with the seized amounts under the jurisdiction of the relevant authorities, while a search warrant was issued for the third suspect."
