The Kataeb Political Bureau issued a statement following a meeting chaired by party leader MP Sami Gemayel, holding "the remnants of the authority responsible for the complete abandonment of their responsibility in negotiating on behalf of Lebanon and the Lebanese, transferring it to the project of unifying the arenas and its spokespersons who come, threatening, maneuvering, and appeasing from the official platforms."
It considered that "the recent visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian deviated from all acceptable norms, and his tours discussing the strategy of war, peace conditions, and his public declaration that Lebanon's security is part of Iran's security constitute the biggest violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and independence and a blatant challenge to the will of the Lebanese who refuse to be dragged into any axis and to be embroiled in wars that do not concern them."
It pointed out that "on the eve of the nineteenth anniversary of the assassination of the martyr President Rafik Hariri, justice remains unachieved and the right is incomplete, as the murderer is free and his protectors continue their approach without hesitation in unleashing the killing machine or accusing every free voice that refuses to impose their hand on Lebanon and seize its decision. More dangerously, the internationally condemned team currently holds the reins of settlements with an excess of power, speaks on behalf of the Lebanese through the domination of weapons, and negotiates the borders of a country that has had its sovereignty violated to serve an external project."
The Political Bureau affirmed that "justice, no matter how long it takes, will eventually prevail, and that freedom and Lebanon are inseparable; this is a covenant we made to all our martyrs, and we will uphold it."
