The French Ligue 1 Association revealed today, Friday, that matches in the league experienced a record audience attendance in the first half of the 2023-2024 season, with an average of more than 26,700 spectators in the stadiums. The French league association stated that the average number of fans attending the matches from the stands was 26,742, an increase of 12 percent compared to the first half of the previous season. After 17 rounds, 4,091,572 fans attended Ligue 1 matches, which is about 20,000 more than in the 2022-2023 season. Clubs such as Brest, Nice, Monaco, and Stade Reims saw a significant increase in their attendance rates. Eight of the Ligue 1 clubs reported an occupancy rate exceeding 90 percent, including Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.
