Israeli Minister Benny Gantz, in the War Cabinet, sees service in the Israeli army as a necessity for national security, stating that everyone without exception should participate. During his participation in a march toward Jerusalem organized by the families of hostages in Gaza, the Israeli minister noted that "the State of Israel is fully united, strong, and steadfast in its pursuit of military victory, the return of our captives, and securing our future." He added, "We are at a time when Israeli society has become receptive to the idea of service in the Israeli army, especially since it has become a pressing national and security need," emphasizing that it is "an existential need to secure our future and cannot be compromised."
