President Vladimir Putin stated that "Russia is a capable and self-sufficient country in every sense and is steadily moving forward, and that is the most significant outcome achieved last year." Putin, during a meeting with citizens on Wednesday while visiting the city of Anadyr in the Russian Far East, pointed out that "all countries in the world are facing difficulties, but the problems of other countries cannot be compared to those faced by Russia." He added: "Leading European economies are not experiencing their best days... We are growing, and they are declining... The sanctions have shown that they need us more than we need them."
