Beginning of Humanitarian Aid Unloading Sent by Sea to Gaza

Food aid sent via a maritime corridor from Cyprus arrived today, Friday, as reported by the American charity "World Central Kitchen." The spokesperson for the organization, Linda Roth, announced that "World Central Kitchen" is unloading the barge that stopped next to the temporary dock, after being towed by a ship that sailed from Cyprus.

The UAE also confirmed the arrival of the first ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza via the maritime corridor between Cyprus and the strip, which carries 200 tons of food and relief supplies. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that the ship, which set sail from the port of Larnaca, was sent in collaboration between the UAE, Cyprus, and the relief organization "World Central Kitchen."

The statement noted that the worsening catastrophic humanitarian situation in the strip requires adopting such an international multilateral cooperative approach to alleviate its effects promptly on innocent civilians by ensuring a safe, immediate, and unobstructed flow of aid on a wide and sustainable scale.

The ministry affirmed that the maritime corridor is part of ongoing efforts to increase the flow of aid and commercial goods through all available routes. It is worth mentioning that "World Central Kitchen" had clarified that it is working on unloading its first shipments of food aid transported by sea to the Gaza Strip.
