Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during a meeting with members of the Russian Security Council that Russia prioritizes its foreign relations with neighboring countries, basing this on mutual interests. He stated, "When building relationships with our partners on the international stage, we always talk about the fact that relations with our closest partners, with our friends, with our neighbors, are extremely important to us." He continued, “The level of trade, economic, and political relations with our neighbors is constantly growing, and we always proceed from the fact that these communications should be built on the basis of mutual interests and considerations.” The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the heads of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, along with several ministers and senior officials.
