Israeli Concerns from Sinai Before Passover

The Israeli economic newspaper "The Marker" reported that many Israelis are afraid that Sinai will remain closed to them during the upcoming Jewish Passover holiday. The report expressed concerns about Israeli tourism and flights due to the ongoing events in Gaza.

The Hebrew newspaper's report indicated that the hours for the Taba border crossing between Egypt and Israel would be extended starting from April 1st. However, it is doubtful that long lines will be seen at the border before Passover. The report added that, in the meantime, hotel owners and executives are doing their utmost to make Israelis feel safe, hoping for their return and crossing through Taba into Sinai.

The Israeli newspaper noted that starting from April 1st, the Taba crossing on the Sinai border would reopen 24 hours a day, after only being open from October 7, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Nevertheless, it does not seem that there will be long lines at this border crossing this year. Israel continues to warn its citizens against traveling to Egypt and particularly to Sinai before Passover, as the crisis in Gaza escalates.
