The Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, George Bushkian, expressed his pride in "the development of Lebanese industry, and in providing manufacturers with modern and attractive designs that meet diverse tastes, rivaling their counterparts in global markets, and sometimes surpassing them in quality and durability." After touring the George Andraus furniture factory in Bourj Hammoud, he praised "the effort exerted with high craftsmanship and the precise execution of designs."
Bushkian encouraged manufacturers to "continue choosing renewal, modernization, and innovation, while maintaining credibility and focusing on long-term policies rather than quick gains." He clarified that "the challenges are significant, and the difficulties faced by the private sector in general, and the industrial sector in particular, are many, but the manufacturers have proven in recent years their immense capabilities to adapt to and overcome crises with intelligence, flexibility, and openness to both traditional and new external markets."
He stated, "The credit goes to individual initiative and refusal to give up. Regarding the furniture industry, those who work as carpenters are, in fact, artists and creative designers who carve wood and transform it into a work of beauty, which distinguishes the Lebanese from foreign manufacturers and from machines that operate without soul. In contrast, the Lebanese manufacturer possesses unique skills honed through practice, inherited from generation to generation."
Bushkian also pointed out "the importance of praising the Lebanese franchise sector that presents Lebanese products in their most splendid form, providing a comprehensive service concept that has become widespread in many countries around the world."
