Hamas: We Are Not Involved in the Management of Al-Shifa Hospital

Hamas announced that it is not a party involved in the management of Al-Shifa Hospital and that it has no presence within its decision-making structure. It added, "The complex is entirely under the authority of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which manages its administrative and technical affairs." The movement denied claims made today, Sunday, about its rejection of 300 liters of fuel from Israel that was designated for medical use at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Hamas stated in a communiqué that "Israel's offer to supply Al-Shifa Hospital with approximately 300 liters of fuel represents a disregard for the pain and suffering of the patients and medical staff trapped within its walls, without water, food, or electricity; this amount is insufficient to operate the generators for more than half an hour." It affirmed in the statement that "it has no presence within its decision-making structure and that it is entirely under the authority of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which manages its administrative and technical affairs."
