On Monday, Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib welcomed the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Aruldo Lazaro, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Minister Bou Habib emphasized "the importance Lebanon places on UNIFIL's role and the continuation of its mission in coordination with the Lebanese government represented by the Lebanese Army, in order to maintain and enhance security and stability in the south." For his part, General Lazaro affirmed "UNIFIL's ongoing performance of its duties in accordance with the mandate granted to it under resolution 1701 (2006) and subsequent relevant resolutions, where its freedom of movement in coordination with the Lebanese Army is part of respecting Lebanese sovereignty and establishing the authority of the state over all Lebanese territory."
Denmark
Bou Habib also met with the Ambassador of Denmark to Lebanon, Christopher Vivick, where discussions took place regarding the deliberations accompanying the renewal of UNIFIL forces and the issue of counterfeit Danish currency (kroner) in Lebanon, following up the matter with the Ministries of Justice and Interior. The discussions also touched upon the political situation and developments in Lebanon and the region.
South Korea
Bou Habib discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Lebanon and South Korea with the South Korean Ambassador Il Park.
