Rocket-Speed Package Delivery? It Might Become Reality

Chinese rocket manufacturer "Space Epoch" announced today, Sunday, that it is working with Alibaba's Taobao online shopping platform to develop reusable rockets for ultra-fast deliveries that could transport cargo to various locations in the world within one hour. The company stated in a notice published on its official WeChat account that the project is in early experimental stages and aims to develop a rocket capable of carrying up to ten tons of goods in a container with a capacity of 120 cubic meters. Beijing-based Space Epoch is looking to utilize its YUANCHING-1 rocket, which completed tests last year designed to measure engine combustion and recovery from marine areas. The company will conduct tests on using rockets for delivery services in the near future, but it noted that achieving its goals won't be easy in the short term. Space Epoch secured 200 million yuan (27.70 million USD) in a third funding round in November.
