Minister: Displaced Persons Should Return to Syria or Go to Another Country

Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi confirmed that "we do not incite against Syrian refugees, but we call for the application of the law on all residents on Lebanese territory." In an interview with Al-Hadath channel, he stated that "Lebanon is committed to human rights and we protect everyone who is in Lebanon legally." He added: "Lebanon is not a country that can bear the burden of refuge, and there are areas in Syria that have become safe." He called for everyone to calm down and refrain from infringing on others.
