Organizations and Associations for Displaced Persons Operating Without Licenses... General Security Takes Action

Today, Thursday, the Office of Media Affairs at the General Directorate of General Security issued a statement saying: "The General Directorate of General Security has noticed an increase in the number of organizations and associations concerned with the situation of displaced persons, many of which do not possess a permit, license, or official recognition that allows them to engage in any activity. It has also been noted that some of these associations are conducting activities that violate the nature of their work and the foundational system under which their license or permission was granted. Therefore, NGO associations, particularly those working in the field of relief and assistance to Syrian displaced persons, are requested to refrain from engaging in any activities that contradict the content of the licenses and permits granted to them. They are also asked to submit to the regional center corresponding to their operational area a copy of the license, permission, or official recognition they obtained, as well as the records of their team assigned to these tasks. It is noteworthy that the operational sectors under the General Directorate of General Security will intensify the process of monitoring the activities of all NGOs, in preparation for taking appropriate measures against violators in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations."
