The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants closely follows the recent events and developments in the Middle East with great concern, as the entirety of the region has reached the brink of disaster. This is occurring alongside the ongoing war in Gaza for the seventh month and the failure to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2728, which aims to halt the war in Gaza, as well as the stalled return to a political process based on the two-state solution and related UN resolutions. The ministry once again urges for the cessation of escalation and threats of war and retaliatory military actions in all forms, and a return to respecting the principles of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy, which are the sole deterrents to prevent the repercussions of a complete explosion in the Middle East, threatening regional peace and security.
