The Foreign Relations Department of the Lebanese Forces Party issued a statement today, Wednesday, which stated: "The Lebanese Forces Party stands in solidarity and sympathy with the Armenian people in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) regarding the displacement they are facing. This is a humanitarian tragedy that takes us back over a hundred years in history to the early twentieth century, awakening fears of genocide and reminding us of painful truths deeply rooted in the collective memory of Armenians."
It pointed out that "in light of the silence and indifference of the international community, especially the European Union, towards the assaults on national identity in Artsakh, we condemn the selectivity of countries that claim to champion democracy and freedom, which silence violations of human rights, and even the death of an entire people, for the sake of their economic interests. There are many examples from Syria to Palestine to Artsakh."
It concluded: "What is happening today in terms of injustice and tragedies in Artsakh calls upon us as Lebanese to draw lessons and to cling even more to the defense of the sovereignty and independence of the Lebanese entity and to believe in the project of the state, which is the sole guarantor of the security, freedom, and rights of all Lebanese components."
