Sunak: Britain

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced on Saturday that the United Kingdom is "shocked by the bloodshed" in Gaza and that "this terrible war must end." In a statement issued six months after the start of the war, Sunak said, "The entire United Kingdom is shocked by the bloodbath" in Gaza. He added, "This terrible war must end. Hostages must be released. Aid must flow."

Sunak explained: "We continue to defend Israel's right to defeat the threat of Hamas terrorists and to protect its security." He continued: "We are horrified by the killing of brave British heroes who delivered food to those in need in Gaza." The British Prime Minister emphasized that "the children of Gaza need an immediate humanitarian ceasefire leading to a long-term sustainable truce," noting that this is "the fastest way to secure the release of hostages and deliver aid."
