Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Calls for Restraint

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ali Tamim, during his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken today, stated that "Iraq calls on all parties to exercise restraint amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel." Tamim added at the beginning of the U.S.-Iraqi High Coordination Committee meeting in Washington that "the Iraqi government warns against the escalation in the region turning into a broader conflict that threatens international security and safety." He continued: "Therefore, we urge all parties to practice restraint and respect the norms of diplomatic engagement as well as international laws."
