Nine people have sustained injuries of varying severity in a fire on an offshore oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico. The Mexican state energy company Pemex reported that the fire broke out on one of its platforms in the Gulf, resulting in injuries to nine personnel. The company noted that two of the injured work for Pemex itself, while the other seven are from different companies. All of the injured have been transported to the hospital, and their lives are not in danger. Initial information indicates that the fire started late in the evening in a section of the "Akal B" platform where gas pipelines are located.
