Helicopter Crash Involving Guinea's Army Chief

A military helicopter crashed in western Kenya today, Thursday, carrying military officials, including Army Chief General Francis Omondi Ogula, according to a police source. A senior officer in the national police, who requested anonymity, stated that "fire broke out in the helicopter shortly after the crash, and there were more than 10 high-ranking commanders on board, including General Ogula,” without providing details on the army chief's condition. In the first comments on the incident, the President of Kenya announced the death of the army chief along with 8 others in the helicopter crash.
