Palestinian artist Mohammad Assaf spoke to journalist Tarek Skik about the suffering experienced by the people of Gaza four months after the war. The son of Gaza couldn't hold back his tears while discussing the war, describing his feelings of "shame and helplessness, as he is unable to change anything." He pointed out the horror of the scenes coming out of the Strip, saying: "Our people in Gaza have witnessed what cannot be seen in movies." Assaf continued: "Inside each of us is a pain, especially for those who have family there; we are shocked and devastated."
Assaf explained the changes the war has brought to his personality, stating: "What happened has changed me personally; I think about everything in a bigger way." The artist hails from Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the determination of Gazans to live, affirming: "Hope cannot be lost despite the sacrifices; Gaza is a resilient people, and hope is always in God." Speaking about the war, Assaf expressed his ongoing attempts to support the people of the Strip, saying: "I tried to provide support as much as possible, through my voice and social media; I continuously shared updates about the war."
