The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated in a statement that "the targeting of civilians by the Israeli enemy in its aggression against Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom of four individuals, including three children in the south last night, and injuring others by drone fire is a heinous crime that adds to the record of the occupation's offenses. This crime is directed at those who call for calm while turning a blind eye to the crimes committed by the occupation against Lebanon. This crime is a new stain on the conscience of the world that overlooks what the Israeli occupation is doing in southern Lebanon and Gaza."
He emphasized in his statement that "this heinous crime will not go unnoticed and will be followed up by the government through international communications, as well as by submitting an urgent complaint against the Israeli enemy to the Security Council regarding this matter. What is required from the decision-making countries in the Security Council is to return to implementing the United Nations Charter and to act to curb the aggressions and save what remains of humanity and justice so that these complaints do not remain mere ink on paper."
