A statement was issued today, Saturday, by the Kataeb Party in the Bent Jbeil - Tyre region: "For days, fires have been consuming large areas of vineyards and forests, reaching the homes of people in the border villages, especially in Alma al-Shaab and Yaroun, which are empty of residents due to Israeli bombing with phosphorus bombs." In this context, the region calls on UNIFIL forces, the Lebanese Army, the Civil Defense, and all official institutions to intervene immediately to extinguish these fires that have devastated their livelihoods and started to threaten their homes.
The region demands that those concerned pay attention to the conditions of these villages, whose residents have been displaced out of fear of the flames of a war they have been forcibly drawn into due to the negligence and complicity of the political authority, which has failed to make a decisive decision to halt the ongoing war with no connection to these residents. More than ever, it is necessary to stop all operations that provoke Israeli responses, which are usually destructive and brutal, causing losses that no one can bear, whether in human lives or property, in light of these difficult conditions.
