Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant affirmed that the battle in Gaza is one of the most complicated wars in the history of conflicts, stating: "Hamas only understands the language of force, and Sinwar does not lead the war nor control the forces; his main concern now is saving himself." Gallant claimed that 18 brigades of Al-Qassam had been dismantled, adding: "By the end of the war, neither Hamas nor Israel will control Gaza, but we will retain the ability to operate in the sector. Meanwhile, Qatar's leadership is building illusions, and there is no doubt that Hamas is making many mistakes, which we are exploiting." He continued: "We currently have the upper hand, and we must continue our pressure to ensure there is no Hamas remaining." He stated: "We intend to reach Rafah, but I cannot say when or how." Regarding Hamas's relationship with Hezbollah, he said: "Hamas thought that Hezbollah would help them and that the Israeli army would fear losses, which did not materialize." On the northern front, he remarked: "If a war breaks out in the north, there will be heavy costs for Israel, but it will be even more challenging for Lebanon and Hezbollah."
