Thousands of Palestinians performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite restrictions and pressures from Israeli forces. The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that "40,000 citizens performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque and its roofed prayer halls." The "Wafa" agency indicated that "occupation forces were deployed at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the Old City, and searched several citizens during their arrival for prayer." According to the agency, several individuals banned from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque prayed in the vicinity of the mosque.
