Sandstorms have hit several regions in Russia, turning the sky orange. Russian media reported that residents in the Krasnodar Territory and the Belgorod and Primorye regions are suffering from sand and sandstorms as these areas were affected by sandstorms coming from the Sahara Desert. Authorities in those regions advised residents to stay indoors and avoid opening windows until the storms subside. The city of Vladivostok and surrounding areas have also been impacted by a strong sandstorm originating from China, causing the sky to turn orange there as well. According to weather experts, dust and sand have currently reached the southern and central regions in the European part of Russia, coming from African deserts, and it is expected that these sands will also reach the northwestern part of Russia.
